Kevin and Brandon got to test ride these two downhill boards
they are both about 11" wide up front so it really locks your foot in,
and are on 200mm split axle trucks with 32.5" wheelbase, very stable set ups.
but they feel just as good on Randals w hourglas shaped holey bushings
Stoked that Y'all liked them.
I am working on a few more of this model right now, just going a bit wider
at 11.25" X 42" w 33" wheelbase. And a change in the concave
I wil lpost up new pics soon. |

I bought some of the new 190mm Sabre Trucks
so I figured I needed a new board to put them on.
Specs are 40.5" X 10.75" wheelbase is 32"
Changed up the concave on this one, it has 5" flat bottom
with a rolled edge. Switched out the Sabre bushings for
some Retro/Abec11 93a Barrels. wheels are 70mm 78a Tunnel STRs
I did the stain with Rit liquid clothing dye scarlet red
Brick pattern grip job, Bottom graphic is vynl lettering under the clearcoat

hahah thanks. that means alot coming from you man. your builds are sick. i used 2 pieces of 1/4 BB. i was actually skating a garage in addison on it yesterday. 29.5" with 19.5" wheelbase. im trying to find 1/8" BB in the DFW area to put in this rib press i built for pool decks/cruisers. i tried with 1/4" and i didnt get close to the bends i wanted before the wood cracked in the press.
my press is a little demanding, but i dont think its unreasonable...
thanks,

thanks. and i have enough scrap leftover from my sheet of bb to make a 10x36" blank. but the grains are oriented incorrectly. just wanted to know if it would be a waste of time to build with it or if i should go for it.
i kinda want to throw it back in the press. if it comes out succesfully, i might try to remake my long lost santa cruz deck. or a zip zinger. idk. ill do a dry pressing today to see if i can get the bends. if i cant, then screw it.

crossgrain will be way to flexy and your concave will flatten out.
That press is awsome, just find some 1/8"bb and your set
4 plys of 1/8" and 1 layer of formica on the bottom would be perfect
for pressing decks with that press. |

okay guys, i threw the wood in there with some gorilla glue. not the wood stuff. the expanding polyurethane stuff. i figured that since my press has ribs every 1.5" or less, the expanding wouldnt be an issue as long as i tightened the press all the way down. and it seems it wasn't. i put the board up on some scrap wood blocks and its very strong, no flexing or cracking. cutting against the grain caused a lot of splintering, and my sanding discs are all worn smooth. and on top of that, im broke. so i need to find a sander so i can smooth out my cuts, and then round the rails. ive decided to stain the top of the deck when i get to that point. man im really stoked though. do you guys think the black and decker palm sander at walmart is worth a damn? i have the vari-speed jigsaw, and its pretty good until my girlfriend stepped on it and bent the shoe... or if theres any other way i can smooth out these rails? i was looking at bastard rasps, and they didnt seem any rougher than the files i already have, and my files arent really working. so yeah. long post. heres some pics
