Just a note to new visitors to the site:

Since we’re in the process of getting the site running on a new server, there are a lot of broken images and videos scattered around. I’ll be fixing them over the next week. Thanks for your patience.

As you can see, I managed to get all the posts from the old bonelessone.com site transferred over to this new WordPress based site. It was actually pretty easy. The images and videos are currently broken, but they will be fixed in a day or two. I got them all moved — but they’ll need to be fixed individually, within each post. No big deal. We’ve got time.

OK, here is a the first version of the new incarnation of bonelessone.com. Grumpy and I have moved the site to a new server. Unfortunately I was not smart enough to get all the old data moved over, at least yet. I think I will be able to move all the old blog articles over. The message board is saved, but various technical problems have prevented me from importing the data.

The forum address is still bonelessone.com/b1chill . I will not be posting an active link to help keep the spammers out. As it is, they are already finding it a bit.

The gallery will be fine — but we will lose the comments, so gallery owners will need to go in and fix that stuff. It will just take me a while to get all the images transferred, as the files are pretty big. I’ve had to upgrade my linux/ssh/ftp skills to do the transfers from the command line, server to server, rather than depending on the ultra-slow upload speed of my DSL line.

I’ll be working on the look and feel of the site over the next few weeks. The main site is being run from WordPress, a very good blogging system.

Overall, I’m excited about having a chance to redesign everything, even if it was forced on me. Grumpy has suggested that we do a “graphics contest” or something, so that B1 forum members can submit new graphics for the site. I’d like to keep the sock monkey theme.
